Eligibility Criteria for PM Internship Scheme 2025:
To apply for the PM Internship Scheme, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Citizenship: Must be an Indian citizen.
- Age: Between 21 and 24 years old as of the last date for application submission.
- Employment and Education Status: Should not be engaged in full-time employment or full-time education. Candidates enrolled in online or distance learning programs are eligible.
- Educational Qualifications: Must have completed at least one of the following:
- Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or its equivalent.
- Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or its equivalent.
- Certificate from an Industrial Training Institute (ITI).
- Diploma from a Polytechnic Institute.
- Bachelor’s degree such as BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BCA, BBA, B.Pharma, etc.
Ineligibility Criteria for PM Internship Scheme 2025:
Candidates are not eligible if they:
- Are below 21 or above 24 years of age at the time of application.
- Are currently engaged in full-time employment or full-time education.
- Have graduated from premier institutions like IITs, IIMs, National Law Universities, IISER, NIDs, or IIITs.
- Hold qualifications such as CA, CMA, CS, MBBS, BDS, MBA, PhD, or any master’s or higher degree recognized by the UGC.
- Are undergoing any skill, apprenticeship, internship, or training program under a Central or State Government scheme.
- Have already completed an apprenticeship under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) or National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS).
- Belong to a family with an annual income exceeding ₹8 lakh for the fiscal year 2023-2024.
- Have immediate family members (self, parents, or spouse) who are permanent or regular government employees.
Financial Assistance for PM Internship Scheme 2025:
- Monthly Stipend: Each intern will receive ₹5,000 per month for the 12-month internship period. Of this amount, ₹500 is provided by the partner company based on attendance and conduct, and ₹4,500 is disbursed by the government through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the intern’s Aadhaar-linked bank account.
- One-Time Grant: An additional one-time grant of ₹6,000 is provided by the government to each intern after joining the internship, also disbursed through DBT.
- Insurance Coverage: Interns has covered under government insurance schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, with the premium paid by the government. Partner companies may offer additional accidental insurance coverage.
