SONY Remote Internship Eligibility Criteria 2025:
Essential Education:
Preferred Ph.D. candidate for this internship with thesis aligned towards causal inference or data science topics. We also welcome candidates with Bachelors and Master Degree who have sufficient project/prior internship work experience in Causal area.
Skills required for Work from Home Internship 2025 :
Essential Skills:
- Strong understanding of mathematical foundations in causal inference, including potential outcomes and structural causal models.
- Knowledge of large language models (LLMs) and their underlying architectures.
- Proficiency in Python, PyTorch and HuggingFace.
- Experience working with causal inference libraries.
- Ability to work independently and dedicate full-time effort. .
Good to have Skills:
- Prior research experience in causal reasoning applied to machine learning or LLMs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on causal reasoning, leveraging potential outcomes or structural causal models.
- Implement and experiment with causal inference methodologies in Python and PyTorch.
- Work with causal inference libraries to develop and validate models.
- Apply causal reasoning techniques to enhance LLM interpretability and robustness.

Duration of the paid internship:
The internship will be for 6 months starting April third week of 2025.
The working hours are from 9:00 to 18:00 (Monday to Friday) full-time.
